Hey guys I'm new to the Tahoe scene

I recently purchaced. A 2003 Tahoe and have been having some coolant issues,

The problem I'm having is I'm having coolant coming out of the over flow tank Onto the ground, The only time that this happens is when I'm driving and crank the a/c on! Once I get to where I'm going and shut the truck off is when the coolant come's out only does this when the truck is under load, when I'm just driving without the a/c it runs fine no leaks???

I have changed the thermostat, water pump was also recently replaced I have flushed. The radiator and heater core... Also the clutch fan is working fine.. I'm stumped?

Any info/help would be greatly appreciated!

Mike,

If its anything like the intercooler system in my ty try this.

Jack the front up so the fill cap on the rad is higher then the rest of the system.

Run the truck with the cap off until you see the coolant level drop when the t-stat opens.

Fill it up. Give it a few revs to make sure you fill the engine. Fill it up. Cap system and run it for a bit.

Let cool and then check coolant level. Add if needed and you're done. Had to do that on my 97 ho after I drained everything. Good luck.

Start the engine.
Idle the engine for 1 minute.
Loosely install the surge tank cap. DO NOT allow the system to build up pressure.
Cycle the engine from idle to 3,000 RPM in 30 second intervals until the engine coolant reaches 99°C (210°F) and the thermostat opens.
Shut off the engine.
Refer to step 2 in order to remove the surge tank cap.
Start the engine.
Idle the engine for 1 minute. Fill the surge tank to 12.7 mm (1/2 in) above the COLD FILL mark on the surge tank.
Install the radiator surge tank cap.
Cycle the engine from idle to 3,000 RPM in 30 second intervals until the engine coolant reaches 99°C (210°F) and the thermostat opens.
Shut off the engine.
Top off the coolant, as necessary, to 12.7 mm (1/2 in) above the COLD FILL mark on the surge tank.
Rinse away any excess coolant from the engine and the engine compartment.
Inspect the concentration of the coolant.
