Hey guys I had a very strange issue. 02 Tahoe with 180K on it. Other day going down freeway I kicked it in the ass to pass semi rig, all of a sudden I get a Growl out of the left Front wheel. so first thing I think is wheel bearing hub asssembly. I put a new one in 6 months ago, NP under warranty and replaced it again. WTH, I still have the noise. Take it to mechanic and he say front differential is out. NP call up a buddy and we swap that out, what a PITA that is. I still have the issue. It is a very loud Growl like your running on the rumble stripes on the freeway. So I'm looking for input if anyone else has had this trouble. I looked at the other wheel bearing and that is quiet and smooth. I'm thinking Next Maybe a U-Joint, since it came on when I kicked it down and put torque on it? Running out of Idea's, pleas help.

How certain are you that the noise is coming from the front? Twice, I've had rear issues that I swore was coming from the front. Both time turned out to be the emergency brake pad; one it slid out of it's bracket and ate up the inside of my rear rotor; the second time, the brake material unglued and the brake material was getting lodged in between the rotor and brake shoe ring..that time, I did get some really loud rumbling and knocking like I was going over those pesky road lines delineation bumps.
