I saw a few threads were members upgraded their factory subs. They replace the factory 8" sub with aftermarket and then added a amp to it on teh wheel well.
Looking todo the same.

Whats a decent priced 8" sub that will fit and sound good in the factory enclosure.

Have not started the project at all yet to know what type of wiring runs back to it. Is it a typlical GM style plug that I will have to cut and wire to the new amp.
My system is non-bose.
Not sure if there is a small tpye amp back there already or its pwred by the HU.
If there is a factory amp in back is there a remote pwr turn on wire.
I am hoping to get away with just running a 12v wire to the back but probrably doubt it.

Thanks for any info.

What about somthing like this. I see its for 2001 and up. I thought 2000-2006 were the same. Mine is a 2000 new body style.

I like that, but it seems a little expensive. Maybe try Ebay to see if you can find that cheaper.

I have a JL Audio 8" sub back there, as well as a 10" JL stealth box in my console. I have one 800 watt (I think) Clarion amp powering both of them. It's not overpowering, but it sounds pretty good.

Not worth it IMO. Stack your loot and get a good amp with a single sealed 10 or 12. Aftermarket head unit is the only way to go, sounds 100x better.
