so here in colorado we've got some of the white stuff.. a cold snap set in.. in the last two days the yukon spent its first stint in 4hi with me.. while driving today i decided to check out the whole auto 4wd mode.. i was at a light so i put it in nuetral hit the switch and shifted back to d..

shortly there after the lovely service 4wd message came across the dic..

it doesn't seem to be coming out of 4wd..

just wondering if the severe cold could be a problem..

Shouldnt be because of the cold. its been -20 here when I have had mine in and I can take it out no problem. Dont realy know how else to help but someone should. Also you dont have to put it in neutral for 4hi or 4 auto, only 4low. make sure you dont change on dry pavement though.

just a report for future users who search:

found alot of mention of the switch being bad.. cheap fix.. 60 bucks.. call my stealership, they want 98.. find more google results about re-sweating the switch pins.. soo.. i pull the switch, re sweat the switch pins.. reinstall and **** works..

i think it was still in auto 4wd which is why i was getting some sideways action and some binding in tight turns..
