Hey all,

Apologize if this has been addressed before but did search for it and didn't find anything.

I have a 99 Tahoe LT with interior lighting issues. Originally the forward and rear dome lights went out. Bulbs are new and checks with a meter show no power at either socket.

Some time later the little round map lights went out, both front and rear. The rheostat controlling the dome lights apparently works because all of the door lights work. The override apparently works as well.

Also, all dash lights work just fine and the rheostat is doing its job dimming them. Radio lights are, of course, totally burned out.

So any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'd really like to avoid tearing the truck apart searching for grounds.

Well, check for power from the socket to a good ground..... Then you eliminate either the grounds as a fault or the power supplied to the sockets.....

thanks for the input. sorry if i wasn't clear in the original posting, but i have metered out both sets of lights (yes to a good ground) and have had no joy.

also, the map lights both front and back that went out sometime after the dome lights. i can't imagine that they would be related to the dome lights, but hey it's chevy electrical so who knows... any suggestions on that would be greatly welcome.

lastly, after doing extensive reading on this topic i am hearing about something called the 'lighting control module' that may be the culprit. anybody out there with similar problems and experience with the lcm? (yes, i know, it sounds like a nasa acronym for one of their space vehicles;)

thank you!

Vehicles only have an Interior Lamp Control Module if they do not have Remote Keyless Entry.
The Interior Lamp Control Module, if it has one, is located under the center of the Instrument Panel (IP).
The Remote Keyless Entry Module, if it has one, is located inside the right of the right steering column support bracket.

I do not have remote keyless entry. Do you think that the lcm could be my culprit here?
