16in wheel on Z71

Hi, we have an 04 Z71 4x4 Tahoe. Tires are shot and we are looking at a used set temporarily until we can get brand new tires. Current set are 285's on 20in. wheels. The used set are tire/rim set, 265/70R16. I understand the Z71 came stock with 17in. wheels. Wondering if 16in. wheels are ok to run? Heard something about the brake package possibly being different between the stock 4 wheel drive, and the Z71 4 wheel drive model, which may be an issue with 16 in. wheels?
