07 LTZ Hard Start?

On my wife's 07 LTZ with 51k miles, it's giving us a hard time when starting. Most times seems like an extended crank, and once done cranking, the engine stumbles up to a normal idle. Sometimes it just cranks a bit and then stops. It's almost left us stranded a few times. I think the remote start is playing a bit of a role in the trouble since it seems to control the start instead of the key position. Of course the dealer says no more warranty, so I'm looking into it. Is there anything I should check? I couldn't find any TSB's or common problems.

Any input is appreciated, especially if it saves me hundreds of dollars at the dealer!

I know this is an old post, but it has major relevance to me. Has anybody had similar issues to the one listed above? i have the same issue on my 2008 yukon denali xl. Anybody's help is appreciated. Thanks.

I thought it would have to do with fuel delivery as well, but get this.....

Temperature sensor failure was causing the prolonged starts and rough idle. How illogical does that sound. Anyways, i read on another forum somewhere that it has to do with the temp sender telling the ECM an incorrect temp and the ECM was trying to correct for that. I dont know the details. It just seems strange that a temp sensor has that effect on starting, idling, and low rpm speeds.

Glad that you were able to figure it out. I would have guessed fuel delivery based on what was happening - but that does make sense.
