01 tahoe, no start

Picked up a non running 01 tahoe LT, wouldn't start, had to tow home. Turns over good, sprayed starting fluid into the intake and had no luck(assuming no spark?), checked fuel pressure and there wasn't any, can't hear fuel pump running.
can anyone help to tell me where to start troubleshooting?

I would first check for spark and see if after you have spark it will fire off of carb cleaner or starting fluid.
