Update Just drove Tahoe. It didn't clunk at all & shifting great in drive while rolling but when I put it in reverse it started doing it when rolling backwards and continued doing it when put back into drive. Maybe not transmission? Rearend? Driveshaft was definitely absorbing the resistance...

I have a 2002 Tahoe that is 2 wheel drive. It started clunking from a deadstop in drive and reverse. Neutral is fine. Sounds like it is coming from the transmission. Sounds like loose parts and it had a rapid click with the clunking. Any ideas? Transmission shot? Thanks
