I removed the old arm by removing the 13mm nut and pulling the arm off of the knurled knob at the base of the bolt. The replacement part has a built in bushing so the hole is too small to fit over the knurled knob. The knob appears to be a permanent part and not meant to come off.

The check engine light came on in my 2005 tahoe. It seems to be running fine and oil is ok. All guages look good. Gas cap is on and door is shut. Where can I see the associated codes? Does it take a special device?
