had this trouble code pop up on my 2000 Tahoe limited, saying that the catalyst is operating below threshold bank 1. Don't know what this means, need a professional opinion

new to the site, I joined because I recently got a 2000 ss Tahoe I really love it. It's a little rough around the edge's but still an awesome ride.But the main reason I joined is that I need some advise on a trouble code that came up, can someone point me in the right direction
