biggest an widest tire for stock applications.

How big of a tire could I buy using a 17" rim? I have some 08 Tahoe 17s I'd like to use, but I'm unsure of the maximum sidewall height I can use... Is it possible to use 305/70/17 33x12 with out rubbing at stock height? EDIT: 305 is wider than I'd like to go, if at all possible I'd like to...

    96 tahoe mirrors

Google "signal mirrors". If I recall correctly they'll run you about $300 for the pair, but they are OEM looking mirrors, with the L.E.D. signal arrows in the glass. They look completely stock. In my opinion its the only way to go, those M3 style signal mirrors are just too small for the truck...

    Fair Price?

^^ I guess up here in the Northeast there are plenty for sale.... If you bring $4,000 or $4,500 in cash he might break. Often times when people see cash in front of them they have a little more room to bargain.. At that price it won't be sold over night. Keep on looking for a bit, you never...

    Predicament.

Honestly thats the gamble you take when purchasing a used car, especially with that many miles. Any car with 145K is going to need some maintenance. All in all, $500 in maintenance on a used car isn't bad at all. Bring the truck to an autozone or advance auto and have the CEL scanned. If your...

    Fair Price?

I hate to be devils advocate, but can he prove the "new engine"? Often times people pick up junk yard motors, and say they bought "new" motors. Ask him if he has paper work for the crate motor.. Make sure that 100,000 mile warranty is transferable as well... $5,000 is the high end of the...

    Sport99's Tahoe Sport! (56K WARNING)

Thanks! Your truck looks great as well. I like the functionality of the running boards, they help when it comes to washing the top of the truck. They also help the ladies step up into the truck.

    Sport99's Tahoe Sport! (56K WARNING)

^^^ Thanks for the advice! I have a portable carpet steamer I'll use once it gets warmer outside. Its worked very well for me in the past, and this carpet isn't bad compared to some of the other cars I've purchased. Untill I find some factory floor mats, the carpet is only going to get dirty...

    Sport99's Tahoe Sport! (56K WARNING)

About a month ago I picked up this 1999 Tahoe sport. Shortly after, I found this forum and have spent many hours searching through all the information here. With the semi warm weather up here in the Northeast, I found sometime today to give it a good cleaning. I spent all of yesterday doing...

    Buying or "Replacing" my Tahoe

If you have a great tahoe sport now, why mess up a good thing??? I think the only real upgrade you'll find is the auto 4wd transmission available in 1999. Even so I never use the auto 4wd setting, I just keep it in 2 wheel drive, and engage the 4wd when needed. I'm not sure weather your 97 has...

Good Quality Replacement Headlights for 98

Those LED signals on styling trucks look very nice. My only concern would be that there aren't enough LEDs to make it as bright. The ones on eBay seem to have more LEDs, which would be brighter at night providing the company uses decent quality leds... Stylin Truck LED signals eBay LED...

OK heres a stoopit noob question ...

I noticed you're up in schenectady. I used to live there and I remember the winters were brutal... It could be possible there is some frozen fluid in the line... Try purchasing some antifreeze wiper fluid and see what happens.

    2 Door Tahoe's

The cargo area is smaller becuase the spare tire is there. In two doors the gas tank takes up the space where the spare tire would normally mount under the truck, so it needs to be inside in the cargo area.

    Newbie buying tips

I say don't worry about the miles, these trucks have been proven to run for many more so long as they are taken care of. I'd say start in by offering $2,000 or $2,500. Don't be afraid to start low, you never know what might happen. If you really like the truck move up to your $2,800 if the owner...

How many of you joined up here

I remember a couple of years back there was a forum called 2doortech, specifically for 2 door Tahoe/Yukons/Blazers. When I finally got mine, I went to go post up on the forum and it was gone! A quick google, and I landed here. Not to mention the FSC forum isn't accepting new members now....

Good Quality Replacement Headlights for 98

Unless you're purchasing a projector that was specifically designed for HID's, I wouldn't bother with the HID/Projector setup. Its a common myth that projectors can serve a dual purpose and be fitted with both halogen and HID bulbs. HID projectors are specifically designed to emit light...

    this guy is smoking!!!!!!

I find a lot of people are "smoking" when it comes to the resale prices of 2 doors. Rims and ugly headlights don't make it worth 7K more than it really is. There are some owners who still believe the 2 door Tahoe/Yukon/Blazer is rare enough that they can tact on a nice premium no matter the...
