No one here has anything to offer on a gear swap?

I'm looking to change out the terrible 3.08 gear set in my 13 LT Tahoe. I was wanting to change the whole front axle assembly out for a 3.73 in an 07-09 model. Everywhere I look it says 07-09 isn't compatible with 10-13. Is only only not compatible because 10-13's weren't available with 3.73 or...
