I took a chance and just pulled it apart - it was pretty easy to lift the upper intake without draining the coolant...... The truck runs like champ again...or it did for a week or 2 till the front end had a close encounter with a utility pole :eek: .....now I have and even bigger project.....

I need to change out my spider injector assembly on my 97 5.7L Vortec engine and I've already searched and found lots of good info.....tonight I went to get started on the job and found what I think is just an error in the service book I have, because I didn't see it mentioned anywhere online...
