You can pop off the triangle piece on the inside of the door without a lot of trouble, it pops on and off. But I would bet that it is a broken wire in the door jam harness. I would double check all the wiring in there, I have seen wires break in the door jams often causing problems with...

It seems/sounds like a fuel issue. But it is definitely odd if there is no issue with it actually turning over. If it is turning over and just not starting then it has to be fuel related in some way.
