Yep, I would assume the same thing as you are right "generally speaking" about OEM coolers - but I would follow up and check the size and position of the OEM until then compare it to a B&M cooler to see if it is bigger then go from there.

yes they are invaluable to have because - most shops charge you just to diag the problem which most just look up the code. Just taking it in twice will pay for having your own in the garage.
Here is one I think is cool because you can use it for many other reasons other than just for diag...
You ONLY need to reprogram IF you are going to an "overall" larger tire diameter. It doesnt matter the wheel size. Its all about how tall your tires are. If you are more than 1" taller than stock then yes you "could" need it reprogrammed but most people dont because its really not off by that much.
