Yep, I would assume the same thing as you are right "generally speaking" about OEM coolers - but I would follow up and check the size and position of the OEM until then compare it to a B&M cooler to see if it is bigger then go from there. Heat is a trannys worst nightmare :yesnod:

You ONLY need to reprogram IF you are going to an "overall" larger tire diameter. It doesnt matter the wheel size. Its all about how tall your tires are. If you are more than 1" taller than stock then yes you "could" need it reprogrammed but most people dont because its really not off by that much.
