james, have you changed the oil and filter since you've bought the truck???? my 01 tahoe with 132,000 miles has always held 40 lbs idling and 40 to 50lbs under normal driving... then a few wks back i noticed mine started dropping to about 25lbs idling. and come back to about 40 driving...
