Clean your throttle body bore and throttle plate. Also there is a calibration update for the ecm/pcm.

I can understant not trusting a dealer, there are some that don't know what they are doing, it's a luck of the draw if the tech that works on your vehicle has any experience and is trust worthy. On the other hand, i can't tell you how many vehicles i get that have been to general repair shops...

harness cost is around $175, GM charges $50 for the vci(program) dealer would prolly charge around $40-$90 to program the vehicle. Like i said, it's a little pricy, but it is factory and reliable, have low and high speed and be monitored. The nelson harness would probly work.I forgot to mention...

not a bad o2 sensor, probley has a intake gskt leaking air past the gskt. were they codes p0171 and p0174? if so, take some chemtool b12 and spray around the intake gkts while at idle, see if it changes.

possibly have a bad body control module, do your interier lights work? security light flashing?
