    Tires

Funny thing, when I walk through the parking lot, everyone here has Goodyear tires, unless it's the stock tires. If anyone from GY is on this website, I WILL replace my tires with GY as soon as they ones I have wear down! Promise! Swear! :( Hardwarz

    Ac/heater Problems

If you think it's the switch, you can go to the dealer and have just the resistor pack replaced. Remove the AC control. Unplug the wires. Unbolt the resistor pack and replace it. Hope this helps. Hardwarz

    1999 Tahoe

I had that happen to me on my 99 Tahoe. Follow the torsion bars to where they connect to the crossmember. Now, depending on the model you have, holding the crossmember to the frame is what looks like an aluminum twisted figure 8. Mine was broke in half and my suspension was doing exactly...

    4x4 fuel economy?

So, today, in Akron, OH, I had to turn on my 4x4 because as usual, the streets are not plowed. I noticed, after dropping off my kids, my gas gauge dropped by a significant amount. When I drive like a grandma, I can get around 15 mpg. What can I expect to get with 4x4 on? 10mpg? Hardwarz

    Heating Problems?

Do you know if someone put regular anti-freeze and mixed it with the Dexcool? If the 2 are mixed, then from what I was told by my dealer, that the mixture will turn into a gel that clogs the heater core. I flushed mine and replaced it with the regular (green) antifreeze. I've read too...

    Tips for maximizing fuel economy

I was thinking that too, you'd have to have a chamber that would vacuum to zero or neg, then refill with 100% nitrogen. Then the automatic machine would have to put the tire on and seal it. Then vacuum the 100% nitrogen out of the chamber (for re-use) and let standard air back in. If you can...

1997 Yukon 2WD Winter Tire Traction?

Depends on design of All terrain. Mudders are just that, mudders, they large self cleaning valleys. Tires like the Mickey Thompson Baja Radial MTZ Tires will be great all terrain and snow/ice, but will cost a lot more then all season. Hardwarz

1997 Yukon 2WD Winter Tire Traction?

Theory comes from the off road industry. My friends in Alaska live by it. If you can get enough penetration to the ground, then do it. If you can't penetrate the ground or need to tread lightly, then wider tires are needed. hardwarz

1997 Yukon 2WD Winter Tire Traction?

Problem is the standard size tires for the Tahoe/Yukon are very wide. Wider tires are better to "float" on when you can't reach deep into the snow and mud. If you do a lot of street driving, you'll want thin tires that reach down deep through the snow forcing the weight of the vehicle onto...

Should I install a transmission cooler?

I'm a Mobile 1 fan, so a dealer fluid exchange will be pricy. Plus, a lot of the local shops around town use multi-manufacturer ATF fluid. I have found out that there are big differences between the multi-manufacturer transmission fluid and the specific fluids for each car manufacturer. I'm...

    Fuel Gauge Fluctuating

From what I was told, if regrounding the tank doesn't work, then you'll probably need to run a completely new ground. To do that, you'll have to drop the tank. Make sure your tank's either completely empty or very close, gas gets heavy. Hardwarz
