Then the problem would be if you had cargo in the rear of the truck or the tonau cover in the rear of the truck. I believe that's why they put them in the headliner. 6.5" pods on the rear pillars? Hardwarz

cluck noise on reverse ! HELP!!

So, 2 weekends ago, I had to take a trailer full of tools up a hill. The hill was a short hill, only about 2.5 feet high but the it was a 40 degree incline. I made it up fine. Leaving there, I had to back the truck and trailer down the hill. Well, I got the frame stuck on the peak of the...

The 4 door Tahoes have: 6.5" in the front doors with seperate tweeters. 6.5" in the rear doors 4x10 in the cargo roof. I couldn't find anyone with a decent 4x10. I think I might make a plate 4x10. Maybe I can have it hold one 4" each or maybe two 3.5" (for a total of 4 speakers) for rear...

When I was younger, I was a Pioneer fan. Bang for the buck, the Pioneer coaxials are great. When I started making more $$, I went over to get higher end stuff. I found out that when you get in the higher prices, the difference you'll pay will mainly for one name over another name. What...

WAIT!!! It's not over your head, especially if you have all weekend! Do you have tools? You can do this! You should have tackled the job instead. It's a pain in the ass, especially when you have to get the tahoe up high enough to get the gas tank out, but it definately will save you...

You know, it really depends on how much money you have and are willing to spend. If you only have enough $$ for Sony, I'd at least get Pioneer instead. It's still going to be better than stock. If you're really looking to get high end, go with Boston Acoustics seperates for the front and...

So on my 99 Tahoe 4 door, 4x4, I was hearing metal clanking from my rear end. I looked under my truck and found that the 2nd from the bottom spring snaped in half. Ok... I had the passenger's side snap while driving off road to go to shooting and the other one snapped probably when I was...

I have Infinity speakers. I like them a lot. I just put in coaxal infinity 6.5" speakers in the front and rear doors. I left the factory tweeter because it would be too much of a pain to replace them. I may add tweeters to the rear door up high though. Hardwarz

Door Bushings aka, the good, the bad, the ugly

So... I replaced my door bushings on my driver's side. It wasn't good.... First off, here's how the door bushings go in. We rested the door on a floor jack From the top, I used a 12" long 3/8" drive ratchet extension and drove the hinge pin downwards. From the bottom, I used the...

Anyone add a car audio/entertainment system to their vehicle?

I've been considering adding a couple of PS2s and a couple of headrest monitors to my 99 Chevy Tahoe for my kids to entertain themselves. (The PS2s will be for games and DVDs.) I do all the electrical work and modifications myself, but I've never done the video in an automobile. Has anyone...

    Need advice

look at it this way.... can you buy another vehicle for $2k? I usually go with the 50% rule. if the repair is 50% of the value of the vehicle, then forget it. use the $$ for a down payment on another vehicle. Hardwarz

    Decisions on a box?????

Technically, you could. If you do, I'd do the outter 2 on the same amp and the middle one on it's own amp. You'll run into less problems that way. Hardwarz
