    2007 Tahoe Z71 - Rear End Noise

It is the gear noise. The metal shavings did their damage. The face of the ring and pinion gears are now scared and causing noise and that pitch will change depending on load. You may be able to drive it that way for quite a while but would not depend on it for long trips. Bad luck. The rear...

Double check the connections/wiring at the stop light switch. They are there but have separate feeds.

    4wd problems

Check all connections at the encoder motor and anywhere in between. But I have heard that lots of times this is related to a bad switch. Not always but lots. Recently another member here had the same problem and he was told that for sure it is the switch. He replaced the switch. Still doing it...

    Lifter knocking

Sounds like 2 separate issues. Need to find a shop for an oil change and cut open the oil filter to check for metal to be sure. If happens only with cold start and goes away when warm, sounds like piston slap and that is another known noise problem but nothing to worry about. Again, do a search...

    Lifter knocking

Lots of problems with lots of rigs can be directly traced back to poor repair and maintenance decisions by the previous owner. I just bought my 02. The older couple that owned it bought it new from a local dealer and had all repair and maintenance done at the same dealer. I got all of those...

    Lifter knocking

You have to ask to speak to someone up the ladder with your complaint. Not saying you will get relief but you can't just give up after 1 try. Plus also, remember this, the engine is 8 model years old. The AFM engines have this problem. Did you do your research before the purchase?

    99' Tahoe weird issue brakes?

Depressing the pedal is the same as apply the brakes. Hopefully you cleaned with a wire brush and used correct high temp lube at all pad and shoe contact points, caliper contact and caliper slides contact points. Replaced all rear shoe hardware. IMO the 1000 rpm at idle in gear is too high...

    Lifter knocking

Oh, they know all right. That's why the tech probably only spent 10 minutes diagnosing the problem. The cam being bad, if it is, can send metal through the engine. Need to have checked again by a qualified shop and get a second opinion. There will be no recall about this but you can contact GM...

    Electrical Problem - First Timer

Rig details always help. Just because you are in the 2000 to 2006 section doesn't mean we need any more than that. Sounds like a BCM problem. I would first try unhooking battery for about 10-15 minutes and then hooking back up. That may recalibrate the BCM.

    Power Door Lock problem

You just bought it you said. Do you know if they all stopped at one time over individually over a longer time? We can assume if you want.

    Lifter knocking

The lifter problem is a known problem. The Fuel Management should be disabled when the work is done and do the lifters and cam. The lifters are different if Fuel Management is disabled. That is the time when the computer shuts down certain cylinders while at highway speed for fuel conservation...

    99' Tahoe weird issue brakes?

Should be closer to 800 rpm. Plus I am a little confused. You said: "I feel pulsing when I brake and then when fully stopped it feels like the rear of the Tahoe is lifted then when I depress the brake pedal I feel the rear drops." So you are fully stopped to me means the foot is on the...

    Shocks over Springs 02 LT

I would not ever put shocks with springs around them on the rig. Harsh ride if unloaded. I would look in to a load leveling Firestone air bag kit. They work and are not too bad to install. Can adjust as needed. If they make a progressive rear spring for your rig that would work, also. I don't...
