Welcome! Man, I've been toying around with the idea of bagging mine, but I'd have to go with a different set of wheels or mod the fenderwells so I can tuck the wheels. I'll probably just wait until I'm ready to repaint the entire truck and just widen the fenders enough to tuck. Did you keep the...
A company called SEM makes quality paints and dyes for automotive interiors. I use their products whenever I need to colormatch any custom interior pieces. Check your local automotive upholstery shops or on-line.
There isn't anything available to change the 00-02 to dd. You can swap in the 03-up bezels, but you still have to move the HVAC controls to fit properly. Here's an article on how I did mine.
I'm running Infinity Kappa components. They sound good, especially for the price. I've used Alpine Type-R components, Focals, MB Quartz, and Eclipse in the past. The Infinitys have decent, well rounded midrange and upper mid bass response and crisp highs. Depending on tweeter placement, the...
If the thermistors are very dirty, sometimes just spraying them and letting them dry won't clean them well enough. You can soak the end of a q-tip with cleaner and gently wipe each thermistor in the maf. Use the tip of your finger to hold the back side of the thermistor you are cleaning to avoid...
They aren't powdercoated. I had to remove what seemed like A LOT of material just to get the balljoints to press in even slightly more than halfway, and they still aren't seated nearly as far as stock, but enough that I feel comfortable that the studs have enough support.
Maybe there was just...
I understand the boot not sitting flush like it does on the stock spindles, but the joints wouldn't press in even halfway on mine. Only about 1/2-3/4" of the stud would press in. Seems to me there was way too much of the ball joint stud not being suppported in the tapered hole. I was concerned...
There is an orange/white wire on the D3 harness that needs to connect to the vehicle's illumination wire. This wire should be orange as well on your aftermarket harness.
Man, I figured you'd have your truck back by now. Still driving the 89 around town, huh? Patience is key; looks like he's taking care of you with the extra free labor at least. Can't wait to see it when it's done.
55belairtim, being a McGaughy's distributor and having installed many of these units, I'm curoius if you've ever had any problems pressing in the balljoints on the 33004 (2003T) spindles? With mine, both the upper and lowers did not seat nearly as far in as they did in the stock spindles, not...
Thanks. I'll probably end up taking the SS bumper and grille over to Continental and have them paint those parts also since they did a good job on the pan.
Don't worry about the bumper bro. Just give me a call whenever you're ready to pick it up and I'll take it to the shop with me. And thanks...
