Here's a pic of a urethane roll pan on mine. The steel ones you can weld in to look smoother. But if you get rearended, then there's more work involved to repairing/replacing one that's welded in. The one I have is from Street Scenes and is pretty thick and durable. I have the Sir Micheals hitch...
I use D2D on most of them. I never ran into the problem above, but then again, I hardly ever unlock the doors with the key. Nice bit of info to know though. I'm about to install a RS into a customer's CTS using D2D, so I'll check it out and see if it does the same thing.
VWB5T, even if you...
Looks good frankb. I'd like to see it at a couple different angles, so definitely let us know when u get a couple new pics posted.
With the fuel tank running along the driver side, I kept mine exiting out the passenger side. Didn't want to take the chance of getting the tank too hot. You'd also...
It's a fan to draw in the cabin air temperature for the auto climate system. A lot of times dust gets built up inside and you can blow compressed air in there to help stop the buzzing.
If you have a test light or 12v bulb handy, you can use it in SERIES. The filament will light up from the high amount of current passing through it then start to dim once the cap starts to charge. Once the light goes out, the cap is fully charged. This will also give you a visual confirmation of...
Looks good man. I like it. I bet you were extremely PO'ed when the new grille broke. Still looks good though. You may be able to lay a piece of metal strap across the back side with some epoxy to hold it together. Looks like the break is clean enough that you wouldn't notice once you put the two...
It's optimal to have the antennas on a metal base with a couple inches all the way around. But in most cases, even with the antennas next to each other, if there is any signal degradation and/or interference, it's so minimal that you won't even notice.
I assume new plugs and wires were part of the tune-up? May also want to service the brake fluid. Most people neglect this. The fluid is hydroscopic, so it absorbs moisture, which is bad for the brake system. Moisture lowers the brake fluid's boiling point and can accel corrosion in the system.
Look on your factory stereo harness and see if you have a dark green wire with a white stripe. I can't remember which pin location it's in. If you don't find it there, you can pull the IP cluster out, and the dk grn/white wire should be on the IP cluster connector, pin A4.
As long as the MEKP/resin ratio is just right and the resin isn't applied in thick layers between curing, then you shouldn't have any problems.
MEKP to resin mixture needs to be at a certain percentage, depending on ambient temperature. Too much will cause the resin the crack during the curing...
Wow, good to hear no one was seriously injured. One of the reasons I commute mainly with my truck is because of it's size. May get less fuel mileage than my other cars, but I feel safer on my daily 65 mile commute.
