Default anybody else use a CB radio while off roading, or ever?

Ok I cant travel or off road with out my cb radio. I use it while traveling when traffic backs up i turn it on, listen to the truckers, they say where the accident is, I get off the interstate and get back on after the accident. If the area is un know to me I ask a trucker how to get a round it. I LOVE iT.

Off road I use it when were in groups. More to mess around. But it comes in handy if someone is stuck and needs help or if I forget my tire compressor and need someone to fill my tires back up. I have never gotten stuck yet (knock on wood) but it would come in handy if I ever do, just call and ask.

So has any body else seen the light of an ancient way to communicate??

Also since radar dectors are a big no no here, i can use it to spot "smokeys"

I have mine under the center console. if you pull the cup holders out it is under the foward console where the gap is(with a little modification) love to know where the 5-0 are on long trips!

i set mine on the dash for now, but there is a perfect slot where i did not get the 6 cd changer (cant get it with the nav, im not sure why) but it fits perfectly in there, i just need to take time to go to a custom audio shop and have them permantly wire the antenna and power supply, right now the antenna is run through the sunroof and bunched up in the visor, still seals water tight, just messy. :ack:

i think the antenna looks cool, adds to the rugged ness of it, if i could i would add another amfm antenna to the drivers side to even it out.

you can see the base of it right behind the sunroof

at one time i had a box that would combine the radio and the cb radio signal for 1 antenna but it has long since been lost in the garage. might look for that soon.
