I expected all the Mobil One users, but Casrol? I have been in the vehicle maintenance industry for close to 15 years, and while Castrol is a great oil, it lacks a little in GM engines from my experience.

Valvoline has been the oil of choice for myself. The weight you use is dependant on where you live.

When I first got into the industry, we tested 3 brand new chevy trucks on their first oil changes.
One got Penzoil, aka, The Sludge Maker
One got Castrol
One got Valvoline
All conventional oil.

After 3k, they came back in, penzoil was 2 qts low and black, castrol 1 qt low and clean, valvoline full and clean.

We then changed them up, switched oils between the three, same results. Valvoline holds up to the temperatures better, doesn't lose viscosity, and doesn't burn.

I have run nothing but Valvoline 10w30 in my mother's 96 Tahoe, change it every 3k to 3.5k religiously. She has 167k on the engine. Every time I go to change it, it is full and still looks brand new. She has never had a drop of oil leak since day one.

Just my 2 cents. Everyone has their preference and reasons.
