It's possible. I wouldn't put too much hope in it though. They can reset your engine light but this may go a little deeper. Worth a shot though.

Did any codes come up for you? I'm having similar issues so ran diagnostics and 2 codes came up..P0300 random misfire and P0304 cylinder 4 misfire. I'm gonna try the things I have read here to see if it fixes anything

I was told by the person who checked my car that I needed a whole new engine! That it looked like something got sucked through my #4 cylinder. However I am getting a 2nd opinion because I was reading in this forum that another person had the same issues and people in the forum replied and said it has something to do with the fuel management system in the 07 Tahoe engines specifically. That I should ask for a compression leak down test to see where it's leaking (exhaust, etc) then from there you can tell what needs to be fixed. They quoted a technical service bulletin PIP4568L that was put out by Chevy or GM? About the engines causing weak lifters to collapse? So I think my next step will be to take it to a Chevy dealer and ask about this. But I tried changing spark plugs and that didn't help...the post I read in this forum seemed like the answer to my issue cause the person who posted....had the EXACT same problems I am having
