I've heard different towing capacities for an 08 Tahoe with the 4.8l. I do have the 3.73 gears. I've heard 4800 lbs and I've hear 5700lbs and I've heard 6200 lbs..... So anyone know which one it is?

Wow, that is bad. I'd have them repaint it too. If the picture you posted was after it was painted then it doesn't look like they adjusted the bumper at all. Keep an eye out for it start peeling again, hopefully it won't

How bad was your paint peeling? The two spots on my Tahoe are very very tiny, like smaller than a grain of rice

I figured I'd just keep some touch up paint handy and when I notice a spot of paint rubbing I'd put some on it. I don't like the idea of them painting my bumper.

so how do you fix this problem? If you get it repainted, won't it still rub and peel the new paint?

If the new you quoted didn't include the available rebates then you could get 0% for 72 months, which would be a lot better interest rate than buying the used one

Even if my ac is off, air still comes through the vents. Is this normal? I have to press the recirculation button to keep the air from coming in through the vents. When I'm not moving, there is nothing coming through, but as I drive warm air starts coming out of the vents....

Thanks for the welcome. I traded in my 06 quad cab 4x4 dodge ram with the 4.7, and the 4.8 seems to be quicker than the dodge. Overall I'm pretty happy with teh 4.8! I'm guessing a programmer of some sort will help out with the hp and torque? Does the 5.3 and 4.8 both have torque management...

the 4.8 has 305 lb-ft and the 5.3 has 340 lb-ft. I don't know how much of a difference this makes..

Can this be done? Can I add the oem fog lights to an LS, if so where would be the best place to buy them?

I noticed that hp ratings for the two motors is rougly a 25 hp difference. How much hp can I add to the 4.8, and whats the best way to do it? If I would have known about the 5.3 I might would have got that, but the 4.8 seems to be a fairly quick motor.

I just bought an 08 tahoe LS with the 4.8 engine. I didn't know that there was an option to get the 5.3 until two days after I bought it. I guess I should do more research next time.... my question is how much difference in power is there between the two motors? My tahoe has the 3.73 axle...
