I usually re-apply it every 2 months or so, but that is not to say that it only lasts that long.

I removed the tag bracket on my Impala, which is the same setup as the Tahoe I believe. To remove the bracket just drill out the rivets.

+1 It will also show up if the temperature falls as you are driving, i.e. pull out of the toasty 55F garage into the 25F weather, or a good cold front blows through, and it will display 'ICE' as the temperature falls through about 34F.

Here's my thought on this: If the drivers had not lost control they would all still be alive. It is the stupidity and lackadaisical attitude towards driving and personal responsibility that kills people and wrecks cars. There are very few causal factors outside of drivers themselves.
