    Why All the Tranny Hate?

Hey guys? Check your fluid levels and set them correct. If the oil is vaguely red in color and doesn't smell like smoke (still smells like oil), you should be just fine. Change the fluid and filter and be done with it. It the fluid doesn't pass one of those two tests, start looking for a core...

New Tahoe Owner Have A Few???????

When I got my 95 Yukon at Christmas (156,000 miles), it ran poorly. It made the 2 hour drive home without problems, but was not what I'd call responsive. I dumped in a bottle of injection cleaner, and that worked miracles! I've since done other minor things, and not only is she running great, my...

Wierd Noises comin from my hoe

Only under load? You have an exhaust leak, maybe exhaust manifold gaskets, or a cracked manifold itself. Once the engine heats up, the leak "seals" itself through expansion.

Windshield wipers have a mind of their own?!?!?!

Most likely your switch, but the wiper system has a recall on it too, so try that first (since it's free).

    Why...Why...Why... I dont understand!!!

Look at the junkyard for what? Buy a gasket kit and repair it. If after that there really is something broken on the engine from the coolant in the oil, THEN look for a replacement engine. You were low on coolant after flushing probably because you didn't "burp" the engine during the refill...

    Engine wont Turnover

Try neutral... might be your NSS out of alignment or whack. Probably a battery cable issue, but the NSS can be to blame too...

    Why All the Tranny Hate?

95Twin is onto the real reason- people don't take care of their stuff, and don't understnd how it works, so they have failures. Instead of blaming their own ignorance, they blame the manufacturer, true to the American spirit. The number one cause of transmission failure is HEAT, second to DIRT...

    Chambered Exhaust Idea

www.summitracing.com is a good place to start... We put a Gibson on my brother-in-law's Ranger 4x4, and it was WAY quiet, but did help a bit with performance (if you can call a Ranger a performance vehicle). His current Silverado has true duals with full emissions running cherry bombs out the...

Does anyone know where I can get new seats?

Oh yes, have you considered the bench or 60/40 seat instead of the buckets?

Does anyone know where I can get new seats?

Do you really think the Caddy seats will be any different than what's in there now? I'll bet you dollars to donuts that they are the exact same seat with different upholstery... If you go to another brand of seat, you really only have to drill 4 holes maximum per seat. Just make sure that the...

    Tips for maximizing fuel economy

Gas is just our regular, run of the mill winter blend E10 garbage. Yes, I don't speed or drive with a heavy foot (unless needed), but I don't putt around either. Actually, I'm finding if I drive it a bit harder, it does better on gas. Must have something to do with the most efficient portion of...

    1997 Transmission Questions

Why not just pick up a used tranny and rebuild it your self? They SEEM complex, but really aren't- a couple of clutch packs, a couple of planetary gear sets, a couple of bands, some servos, the valve body, seals, gaskets, and pumps. I can do a Mopar 727 in about an hour now, I doubt the GM is...

    Tail light installation?

There is a thing called a "circuit board" (not the proper name, but the name none-the-less) that screws to the lens housing. Look on eBay to see what I mean. I just did mine yesterday, and the engineer who thought this system up should be, well... not allowed to do this kind of work again! LOL

    Fair Price?

A brand new (not rebuilt) GM performance crate engine for these things are $1800.00 with full GM factory warranty. Why anyone would pay THAT much for a rebuilt SBC is beyond me. My 95 didn't cost me a nickle from the dealer I got it from, but wholsale to wholesale value, I'd say it "cost" me...
