I just ran down to Daytona and back (200 plus round trip),80mph,a/c full blast...16mpg,still thinking about a cold air intake,Ebay one looks pretty tempting.$70 shipped for an intake with K&N filter,Heres the link...
I have never heard of a cold air intake giving that much of an increase in fuel mileage,prob an isolated incidence,don't expect the same results by any means,but nice to hear if you indeed are getting that kind of mileage on a regular basis
I did not get a remote when I bought my Tahoe used ,I got the remote on ebay for $15 and programmed it myself,It did not work initially but I was close to some pretty powerful radio towers at the time,once I got away from them it worked flawlessly
My brother and I both have 1998 Chevy's,mines a Tahoe and his is a 1500 Z71 truck,both 4x4'x and have towing packages but my rear drums are huge compared to his on the truck.They appear to be twice as thick and a little larger in circumference.did Tahoes get bigger rear brakes?
I think the 5.3 and the 6.0 are the same demensions,I believe the ecu's are the same also.It should bolt right in unless you have an older 5.3 that does not have the drive by wire.Then you might have ecu and harness issues.I have a 5.3 conversion on my 03 Jeep and a buddy has a 6.0 and it looks...
no matter how many times I do it ,I still cannot get the programming to take.I have done the 4 and 8 pin jumper,and holding the remote buttons with no luck,Any body know a trick or something I am doing wrong?
driveshaft(s) bent or out of balance,tailshaft bearing,broke tranny mount or motor mount,loose u-bolts on rear leaf springs(prob not but hey who knows)
