Dash lights (instrument cluster)off in neutral

I have an 05 Tahoe & today wife just told me when she goes to start the care all of the lights on the dash & instrument cluster are off. She puts it into reverse and starts to back out then all of the dash lights come back on. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Thanks
