08 Denali - how do I get lights to come on when doors open

Bought a used 08 Denali with 29K on the clock last week. Loving it so far. I can't figure out how to get the interior lights to come on when the doors open. Can you guys tell me how.

Push the long Penis looking button/know where your fog light switch is to the left of the steering wheel!
That button should be in the extended position and there you go!
