oil life indicator

Anyone know how to reset the engine oil life indicator? Had it changed recently in my wife's '04 Tahoe and they didn't reset it.

Turn the key to the "run" position but don't start the engine. Slowly depress the gas pedal 5 times in 10 seconds, turn the key off. Start your Tahoe, it should say the indicator has been reset, if not repeat. If this isn't 100% correct, check your owner's manual, that's where I found these instructions. Good luck,

Thank you. Never thought to look in the owner's manual for this. I guess I assumed it would be viewed the same as throwing a code but I guess I was wrong.
