04 Z71 Lift Help

I'm a little nieve when it comes to this topic so please forgive in advance. I have a 04 Z71 that I want to put 285/70/18 or close to this size set of wheels on. I know I will have to put some sort of leveling kit or lift on the truck but I don't want anything to aggressive. With that being said the guy at the store said the only lift size for the 04 would be 6inches. I feel this is way to big for me and I also got the feeling from reading some of these threads that there are smaller lifts / leveling kits out there...Any info would be appreciated.

You should be able to fit those tires with a level kit or cranking the torsion bar keys. Based on others with your model year, some type of Ford torsion bar key will provide the best bang for the buck minor lift (~2") for the front and a 1" spacer for the rear.
